About Aurora's Design Academy

The Aurora’s Design Academy, Hyderabad, is one of the many premier institutions of the Aurora’s group of colleges. Located in a prime locality at the heart of the city, at Banjara Hills, the campus is spread across a vast area of 4200 sq.yards.The environs here, with abundant formal, semi-formal and informal learning areas, are most suited to an enriching learning experience.

We at ADA, aim to serve as an atelier for higher learning in the sphere of architecture. Here, we encourage pluralism in design outcomes. The school reinforces the pivotal importance of space, genus loci, people, culture, and technology in shaping the built environment around us.

At ADA, the students are encouraged to take up independent thinking and alternate, attractive, and viable solutions to real world problems particular to the Indian sub-continent. Solutions fostering sustainability, energy conscious designing, low carbon and ecological footprint, localism, contemporaneous expression of traditional practice, are particularly encouraged.

Academic Council

The Aurora’s Design Academy has taken up the initiative to have an Academic Council which shall be its principal academic body and will be responsible for the maintenance of standards of education, teaching and training, inter-departmental co-ordination, research, examination and tests of the institution. This Academic Council consists of eminent members of the academia and the industry from various institutes and organizations across the country. Their primary duties include exercising general supervision over the academic work of the institution and to give direction regarding methods of instructions, evaluation and research or improvements in academic standards. The Council is also to make recommendations to the Board of Management on various measures for improvement of standards of training and research, on fellowships and scholarships, the establishment or abolition of departments / centers, etc.

Governing Council

In addition to the Academic Council, the Aurora’s Design Academy is also endeavoring to have a Governing Council as well. This Council would consist of a group of elected eminent personnel from various organizations of fields / disciplines related to architecture and planning. Their primary intention would be to exercise general supervision over the administration of the institution, to throw light on the best practices of mechanisms to run the institution, to promote smooth and proper functioning of the departments / centers, etc.
